Lewis Named Assistant Mens Soccer Coach
HOBOKEN, N.J. – Stevens Institute of Technology head men’s soccer coach Tim O’Donohue recently announced the hiring of Hank Lewis as an assistant men’s soccer coach for the upcoming 2010 season. Lewis joins the Ducks’ staff after previous stints as an assistant coach for Colgate University, Gallaudet University, Washington College, and the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Women's Volleyball Announces 2010 Recruiting Class
HOBOKEN, N.J. – Hoping to build upon another successful season on the Hudson, Stevens Institute of Technology head women’s volleyball coach J.J. O’Connell recently announced the addition of six incoming freshmen to a Ducks’ squad that posted a 26-10 overall mark in 2009-10, capturing their sixth consecutive conference championship en route to their sixth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
Abuouf Named Arthur Ashe Sports-Scholar
FAIRFAX, Va. – Rising senior Mohamed Abuouf of the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s track and field program was named to the prestigious 2010 Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports-Scholar Awards Third-Team. The award honors undergraduate students of color who have made achieving both academically and athletically a winning combination. To be eligible, students have to compete in an intercollegiate sport; maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.2; and be active on their campuses or in their communities.
Stevens Athletics Finishes 2009-10 Ranked 38th in Directors' Cup Standings; Matches Highest Finish in Program History
HOBOKEN, N.J. - The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) released its final 2009-10 Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings, and Stevens Institute of Technology came in at No. 38. The ranking matches the best-ever finish in program history, previously achieved after the 2008-09 school year. Stevens totaled 380.5 points, which is an all-time high as 311 NCAA Division III Colleges and Universities were ranked with Williams College winning its fifth-straight Directors’ Cup.
Rosensteel Advances To USTA Middle States US Open Sectional Qualifying Tournament Final
WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Freshman Chris Rosensteel of the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s tennis team recently enjoyed a remarkable run through the United States Tennis Association Middle States US Open Sectional Qualifying Tournament, advancing to the finals of the five-day championship held at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J.
