Rules

1. Injuries - The Intramural Department is not responsible for injuries incurred in intramural sports or recreational activities. Participants are responsible to supply their own appropriate insurance coverage.

2. Fees - Each team must pay a $10.00 entry fee for each intramural sport in which they participate. This fee is refundable at the end of league play if no fines have been levied against the team / individual. Refunds must be claimed within two weeks after the conclusion of league play.

3. Forfeits 

  • Game time is Forfeit time! 
  • A team that is not on time with all members ready to play their assigned game will result in a forfeit.The team who forfeits receives an automatic LOSS for that game.
  • If in the event of a double forfeit, the game will not be rescheduled and both teams will receive an automatic loss.
  • Games will be declared forfeited by the official assigned to the game.
  • To avoid the penalties associated with forfeiting a game, you may request a postponement with the Asst. Director of Campus Recreation. See “Postponements”. Call extension 8554 at least 48 hours in advance to postpone a game.

4. Rosters - Each team/individual will submit a roster (with appropriate fee) to the Recreation Office in Walker Gymnasium before their first contest. The roster should be legible and complete. The roster will be finalized at the start of the team's 2nd league game. After this time no players may be added to the roster.

5. Inclement Weather/rain-outs - Call after 2 pm Intramural Sports Office- 216-8111- It is your responsibility as team captain to call concerning the status of the IM games. No decision will be until 2 pm. Games may be cancelled after the 2 pm deadline, if the weather worsens call the Intramural Sports office at 216-8111 before you leave for your game. If games are rained out during the first two weeks of regular season play, they will be rescheduled. Rained out games will be made up by playing on the upcoming Sunday at the same time as originally scheduled.

6. Ineligible Players - The use of an ineligible player will result in the loss of $5.00, the loss of any and all contests in which an ineligible individual participated, and suspension from intramural competition for any team involved in a second offense.

7. Fighting - Fighting will not be tolerated and will result in immediate ejection from the contest and a warning issued to the team. Suspension from league competition for any individual is at the discretion of the intramural staff.

8. Profanity - Profanity will not be tolerated. One warning will be given by any IM staff member with immediate ejection from the contest occurring upon the second offense.

9. Postponements - The IM Office is willing to cooperate in extraordinary circumstances by allowing an occasional postponement. However, these will be kept to an absolute minimum and must be done 24 hours before the contest in question. Arrangements must be made between the two team captains and an intramural staff member. The IM Office has the sole right to postpone any contest.

10. Protests - Only protests concerning questions of eligibility will be considered by the IM Office. Protests must be submitted in writing, to the intramural office within 24 hours following the contest in question. The IM Staff will review all protests. Its decision is final. Under no circumstance will any question concerning an official's judgment be considered for protests.

11. Sportsmanship - Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Arguing with officials, abusive language and any type of physical confrontation are considered violations of good sportsmanship.
