Rules
- On days of inclement weather, call the Director of Campus Recreation after 3:00 pm for cancellation information at 201-216-8111.
- Ten fielders constitute a team. A team may start a game with a minimum of eight players. If a team has more than 10 players on a roster they may use them as designated hitters at the end of the line up.
- Games are 6 innings of regular play or 40 minutes long. A game will be called for the following reasons:
- Lighting or excesive rain. Three complete innings will constitute a complete game.
- Conclude at the end of 4 or more innings if one team is ahead by 10 or more runs.
- A coin flip will determine "home team".
- Catchers must wear protective mask.
- The following field rule will be in effect:
- No sliding, lead-off or stealing bases.
- Advance only one base on overthrown balls.
- Participants are permitted to wear rubber-cleated shoes. Metal cleats are not permitted.
- A re-entry rule will be in effect. A player may re-enter only in his/her original batting position.
- Runners are prohibited from crashing into the fielder who has possession of the ball or a player who is about to catch a ball. The ball is dead and the runner is ruled out and is also ejected from the game.
- If a base moves from it's designated location the focus of the play remains at the designated location and the runner will be safe.
- The following is not permitted on DeBaun Field at any time:
- chewing gum.
- soft drinks (only water is permitted).
- cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco or any other tobacco product.
Failure to comply with this rule will result in an immediate forfeit of the game and the offending team ejected from league play!
- 1 forfeit will result in your team being ejected from the league.
