The Stevens Institute of Technology Triathlon Club started the season with a bang at the Cranberry Trifest. This was an Olympic size triathlon consisting of a 1500m swim, 26.2 mile bike and 10K run. Stevens had eight athletes participating in the event including four new members of the team, Kimberly McCaffrey, Gabrielle Czernik, Aaron Perelman and Jamie Brabston. Stevens other competitors included Nick Walulik, Amanda Nauman, Aaron Williams and a graduate student, Nicole Ogrosso.
Nick Walulik was Stevens' top finisher with a time of 2:21:52. He finished ninth in the male collegiate division and 46 overall of the 636 competitors at Lakeville, MA. Amanda Nauman was Stevens' top female finisher finishing fifth in the female collegiate division and also had the fifth fastest swim of the day. Her final time was 2:30:19. Aaron Perelman had an amazing performance at his first triathlon, finishing second for Stevens' males with a time of 2:33:17. Aaron had the fastest 10K run split by a Stevens Triathlon member with a time of 43:42. Gabrielle Czernik and Jamie Brabston had a great first race of the season finishing eighth and ninth respectively in the female collegiate division. They are motivated and have high hopes for the rest of the season. Aaron Williams rounded out the Stevens' male triathletes with a time of 2:37:00. Nicole Ogrosso and Kimberly McCaffrey finished out the rest of the day with times of 3:05:00 and 3:15:10.

The Stevens Triathlon team competed in the USAT Collegiate National Championship - Lubbock, Texas April 17, 2010. The Men's finished 55 of 70 teams and the women finished 33 of 50 teams. Highlights include Amanda Nauman finishing 51 out of 372 female competitors, Nick Walulik finished 160 of 456 male competitors and Evan Wilson had the 12th fastest swim time out of 782 racers.

Amanda Nauman had a fantastic weekend winning the female collegiate division. She had the fastest female swim and fastest female bike. Amanda crossed the finish line 19 minuts ahead of the second place female. Amanda is now the overall female points leader for the NECTC. William Gerboth also had a very good showing finishing 3rd in the collegiate male division. Matthew King finished 7th and Nicholas Walulik finished 10th out of 205 competitors.

| The Stevens Triathlon team did a great job this past weekend. In total Stevens had ten athletes competing in the Buckman Sprint event. As a team Stevens finished 3rd out of 6 teams. Amanda Nauman had an impressive performance finishing 2nd in female division. Matt King and William Gerboth were Stevens top male finishers. |
