Stevens Institute of Technology tennis head coach Steve Gachko named Brian Maher as the new assistant coach for both the men's and women's programs in September of 2016.
Maher came to Stevens after a stint as the assistant women's coach at Seton Hall, after previously serving as the women's head coach at Caldwell. Maher assists Gachko in all aspects of both programs including recruiting, practice plans and player development.
Maher played collegiately for Villanova from 2005-09, serving as a captain from 2008-09. Maher played primary at No. 2 singles and doubles, and qualified for the Big East Championship his final three seasons. Additionally, Maher represented Villanova at the ITA Individual Singles Championships as a senior.
A graduate of New England School of Law in 2012, Maher has worked full-time as a Financial Advisor with UBS in Florham Park, as well as a stint as an associate at the law firm of Gold, Albanese & Barletti.
Maher currently resides in Cedar Knolls.
