What is Duck Country?
Duck Country is a way to unite the Stevens student body in support of our many nationally-recognized Division III athletic teams. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee would like to invite the student body to compete along with many of the Stevens athletic teams in a friendly competition. The competition is per semester (one for the fall and one for the spring – points do not carry over).

Who is allowed to participate?
Anyone who is a member of the Stevens student body is welcome to join the “roster” of a varsity team. Simply speak to the leaders of your favorite team and have them add you to their Duck Country “roster.” Your involvement and attendance will then count towards that team’s overall point total. This is a great way to be a member of your favorite team.

How do you score points?
There are two main ways to score points (attendance and involvement/spirit).
Attendance:
Each team is required to submit a “roster” of who is on their team. The team will receive percentage points for the number of people that attend Duck Country events. For example, if 100% of the “roster” is in attendance, the team will get ten points. If 90% attend, the team will get nine points. In addition, the largest group in terms of total attendance will receive five bonus points. Furthermore, the team with the highest percentage of its roster in attendance will receive five bonus points.

Involvement/Spirit:
Teams will be able to gain additional points for “involvement/spirit” at games. Some events will have themes. Others will involve finding the loudest fans. Basically, the teams with the best fans will earn points in the following ways:
First Place – five points
Second Place – three points
Third Place – one point

When are Duck Country events?
Yellow Duck Country T-shirts will be floating around campus with the dates listed on the back. Also, there is a Duck Country events sign outside of Walker Gymnasium near Davis Hall. Additionally, on the day of a Duck Country event, additional signs will be hung up around campus. Finally, the complete list is at the bottom of this page.

What are the prizes?
There will be a pizza party each semester for everyone on the roster of the team that finishes with the most total points. Please check the sign in the Schaefer Center lobby for updated standings. A Duck Country cup or plaque will also be created to highlight the various champions.
