HOBOKEN, N.J. (December 31, 2012) –The Stevens Institute of Technology athletic department will help celebrate the 27th Annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), by serving as a proud host of “Girls in Sports: An Investment in the Future” on Friday, February 1. Held to promote the involvement of girls and women in sports and fitness activities, Stevens encourages all females and males from grades K-12 to attend free of charge.
This is the eighth-consecutive year that Stevens has hosted an NGWSD event on campus.
WHAT: The Stevens Institute of Technology presents "“Girls in Sports: An Investment in the Future,” in celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
The day will include sports clinics and games with Stevens student-athletes, pizza, drinks, a meet-and-greet with the women's basketball team and free admission to watch the squad compete against Empire 8 conference rival Utica College.
WHO: Males and Females in grades K through 12 are invited to attend. Parents/Guardians and chaperones are also encouraged to attend and will be provided free admission into the game.
WHY: To promote the involvement of girls and women in sports and fitness activities.
WHEN: 4 p.m. to 8 pm. February 1, 2013

REGISTRATION: The event is free. Pre-registration is requested by January 25, 2013.
