HOBOKEN, N.J. (July 23, 2013)
– For the second time this academic year, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced is All-Academic teams earlier today, and once again, both Stevens Institute of Technology track & field programs were honored for cumulative excellence in the classroom. The men's team recorded a 3.32 grade-point average during the spring semester, while the women boasted a 3.41 GPA. In the fall, the cross country teams earned the same award.

The Stevens men were just one of 80 NCAA Division III institutions to exceed a cumulative 3.10 GPA or higher, while the women were one of 148 teams in the nation. The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse was named the Men's Scholar Team of the Year with a 3.20 GPA and swept both indoor and outdoor national championships. On the women's side, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (outdoor) and Wartburg College (indoor) were the top scholar teams in 2013.

On Stevens' campus, the women held the second highest cumulative GPA for women's sports, behind only cross country. The men were third on Castle Point behind cross country and golf.

Also for the second time this year, freshman Amy Regan (Green Brook, N.J.) garnered All-Academic distinction with a 3.69 GPA in Engineering Management during her first year at Stevens. Regan lands on a list of 367 other female student-athletes from 123 schools that excelled in and out of competition.

This marks the fifth time since 2007 that both teams have landed on the USTFCCCA All-Academic list during the cross country and/or track & field seasons.
