BETHLEHEM, Pa. (October 4, 2014) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's cross country program competed in the multi-divisional Paul Short Run on Saturday in Bethlehem, Pa. and placed 24th as a team out of 40 colleges.
Stevens split its squad into two different races, the 8K Brown and 8K Open, in the 41st Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.
Sophomore
Nicholas Zickgraf (Kenilworth, N.J.) paced the Ducks in the Brown portion of the event with a 51st place showing in a time of 25:59. In all, 341 runners maneuvered the course on Saturday.
Senior
Thomas Cunningham (Colonia, N.J.) clocked a time of 26:11 to finish 76th overall, while freshman
Greg Arabagian (Morristown, N.J.) completed the course next for the Ducks with a time of 26:38.
Sophomore
Abe Lahood (Merrick, N.Y.) posted a time of 27:05, and classmate
Michael John (Nottingham, N.J.) followed in 27:23.
Stevens' final two runners in the Brown race, senior
Andrew Parlette (Clarksville, Md.) and sophomore
Chris Banko (Aberdeen, Md.), crossed in 27:29 and 27:42, respectively.
Most of the top seven recorded personal best times.
In the Open race that consisted of 497 runners, senior
Kevin Barresi (Little Silver, N.J.) recorded the best finish with a time of 27:03.
Sophomore
Finley Simonds (Brimfield, Mass.) crossed the line in 27:37, while classmate
Michael Reilly (Westfield, N.J.) posted a 28:02. Freshman
Adam Sisson (Media, Pa.) finished the 8K in 28:09.
The Ducks compete again on October 18 at Connecticut College at 11 a.m.
