NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (November 2, 2014) – The Stevens Institute of Technology wrestling team opened its 2014-15 season with a win over Centenary College and losses to Delaware Valley College and Rutgers University at the Rutgers Duals Saturday in the College Ave. Gym.
The Ducks won 42-0 over Centenary, but were upended by Delaware Valley, 27-13, and Rutgers, 41-0. Stevens (1-2) will return to action next weekend at the Ithaca College Invitational.

Ryan Wilson earned a 12-6 decision victory to get the Ducks within nine.
The lead swelled to 14 (17-3) after 149 before the Ducks earned a decision at 157 and a major decision at 165 to make it a 17-10 bout. Freshman
Zach Wilhelm notched the decision at 157, before senior
CJ Caserta tallied a major (11-1) over Steve Acevedo.
Stevens' final three points of the match came from a 6-2 decision win by newcomer
Phil Woods at 184 pounds.

Anthony Geiger won by fall at 2:01 of the first to put the Ducks up 11-0.
Wilson improved to 2-0 on the day with a decision over Adam Swift at 141 and freshman
Josh Smith picked up his first collegiate win over Allen Jordan in overtime, 6-4. Wilhelm also went to 2-0 when he picked up three team points with another decision at 157.
A Caserta major pushed the score to 24-0 Stevens and made him 2-0, while freshman
Kalen Gans pocketed his season's first triumph via fall over Dan Wegner at 174. Freshmen
AJ Kowal and
Robert Maggiulli each were victorious by decision – Kowal at 184 over Josh Sibblies and Maggiuli at 197 over Joe Ragsdale.

Chris Florek closed the dual with a win by forfeit at heavyweight, giving Stevens an early-season-high of 42 points.
Rutgers 41, Stevens 0Against the DI Scarlet Knights, Murray wrestled well at 125, dropping a 4-2 decision, and so did the 197-pounder Maggiulli, losing in a heartbreaker, 7-6, to Ralph Normandia. Rookie
Phil Woods was also solid for the Ducks, falling 7-3 at 184 to Taylor Jackson.
