HOBOKEN, N.J. (July 11, 2014) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team released its schedule for the upcoming 2014 season on Friday. Stevens will play in 18 matches this fall which includes seven contests against teams that reached the NCAA Division III Championship in 2013.

Those seven NCAA-participating counterparts combined for an overall record of 120-28-5 and four of them advanced to the Round of 16. In all, 12 of the 18 teams that Stevens (10-9 in 2013) will square off with in 2014 finished last season above a .500 winning percentage, but the Ducks will look to secure their 13th consecutive trip to postseason play.

The Ducks open up against perennial power Messiah College (20-3-1) at home on August 29 at 5 p.m., which will be the first home event on Castle Point since the new turf was installed at the De Baun Athletic Complex. Messiah was ranked 10th nationally in the final National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top 25 Poll of 2013.

Two days later, Stevens entertains Brooklyn College (15-4-0), another NCAA opponent, at 1 p.m.

September kicks off with the 11th Annual Stevens Engineering Cup on the 6th and 7th. Stevens hosts Vassar College (9-8-2) in the first cap of the four-match event on the 6th at 10 a.m. and will then take on New York University (7-8-3) at 3 p.m. on the 7th to wrap up the tournament. SUNY Cortland is the fourth team participating in the Engineering Cup this season.

In-state rival Montclair State University (20-1-1) steps on campus for the Ducks' fifth-straight home contest on September 12th at 7 p.m. Montclair, ranked ninth in the country in 2013, was unbeaten through its first 21 matches last fall until it dropped a 2-1 decision to Trinity (Texas) in the Round of 16.

On September 17th, Stevens plays its first road game of the year at Farmingdale State College (13-10-0, NCAA First Round) at 4 p.m. before returning home for its Empire 8 Conference opener against Utica College (3-12-2) on the 20th at 3 p.m.

A short road trip to Drew University (15-4-1, NCAA) in Madison marks the midway point of 2014 for Stevens on the 24th at 7 p.m. and then the Ducks head to Elmira College (5-10-1) for another Empire 8 tilt on the 27th at noon.

September concludes with a home non-conference meeting with Eastern University (4-12-2) on the 30th at 7 p.m. before E8 rival Ithaca College (19-3-0) travels to Hoboken to start things off in October on the 4th at 2 p.m. Ithaca reached the Elite Eight of the tournament last fall and finished the year ranked fifth nationally.

The Ducks will then play three consecutive conference matches in a seven-day span (October 11-18) against Houghton College (13-5-1), Alfred University (5-13-0) and Nazareth College (11-7-2). Houghton and Alfred are on the road over Columbus Day weekend, while Nazareth is home on the 18th.

Another tough road test appears next on October 22nd against The College on New Jersey (18-3-2) at 7:30 p.m. in Ewing. TCNJ is the final NCAA opponent for the Ducks, as it finished 2013 ranked 11th in the country.

The regular season wraps up with a pair of E8 matches against St. John Fisher College (9-11-0) on October 25th and at Hartwick College (8-8-3) on November 1st. Stevens will host Western Connecticut State University (10-10-1) on October 28th for the home finale.

Empire 8 tournament play is scheduled for November 7-9 at the regular season champions' home site.
