HOBOKEN, N.J. (July 11, 2014) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team announced its 2014 schedule for the fall season on Friday. Stevens will play in 35 regular season matches beginning on August 29th and will face 10 NCAA Division III participants from a year ago.

The Ducks are coming off a 27-7 campaign in 2013 – a 10.5-match improvement from 2012 – and were the Empire 8 Conference regular season champions. Stevens went undefeated in conference play and swept all four major awards presented by the Empire 8.

2014 kicks off with a four-match tournament at Salisbury University at the end of August. Stevens opens with Salisbury – an NCAA qualifier – at 4 p.m. and then plays Clark University to conclude Day One. The following morning, the Ducks face Mount Aloysius College and wrap up with Swarthmore College at 2 p.m.

Stevens plays its home opener on September 3rd against Hunter College at 7 p.m. before heading off to Springfield College for its second tournament of the year on the 5th and 6th. While in Massachusetts, the Ducks meet a pair of NCAA teams in Westfield State College and Rivier College, with the possibility of a third in Springfield depending on match results.

From September 13th to October 1st, the Ducks will be in Canavan Arena for nine of their next 10 matches. Kean University and Hartwick College visit Hoboken on September 13th for the Ducks Tri and then they head to SUNY New Paltz on the 17th to face another NCAA counterpart.

Stevens returns home on the 20th for an Empire 8 tri-match against Elmira College and Houghton College before gearing up for the Stevens Invitational on the 26th and 27th. The Ducks will entertain Brooklyn College, Richard Stockton College (NCAA opponent), Ramapo College and the United States Coast Guard Academy over the two-day event.

The homestand finishes up with Baruch College on October 1st at 7 p.m. Baruch marks the sixth NCAA team on the docket.

On October 4th, Stevens travels to St. John Fisher College for another E8 crossover against Fisher and Alfred University. The Ducks are back in Canavan on the 8th for a 7 p.m. contest against Vassar College and will then head south to Stevenson University for a tri-match on the 11th. Stevens squares off with Stevenson (NCAA) and Gettysburg College in Owings Mills, Md.

Stevens' final dual match of the season takes place on the 15th against St. Joseph's College – Long Island, the Skyline Conference representative in the NCAA Championship, at 7 p.m.

The next six-of-seven matches on the 2014 slate will be played in Upstate New York from October 17th to the 25th. Stevens first visits Hartwick for an Invitational against SUNY Brockport, SUNY Oswego and St. Lawrence University on the 17th and 18th and then heads across the Hudson River to take on rival New York University on the 22nd.

After two days off, the Ducks head to Utica College for a conference showdown and then travel to Ithaca College for the final E8 weekend against Ithaca and Nazareth College – the defending conference champions.

The regular season comes to an end on October 31st and November 1st in Canavan as part of the NYS Regional Challenge. Stevens will first play Rowan University at 4 p.m. on the 31st and then tangles with Clarkson University at 8 p.m. Clarkson posted a 36-7 record in 2013, reached the Elite Eight and finished the year ranked 18th nationally. November gets underway for Stevens against the University of Rochester and Montclair State University at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.

Empire 8 postseason play is scheduled for November 7th and 8th on the regular season champions' campus.
