Coach Aldins says: Back from an arm injury that sidelined him for the entire 2013 campaign, Michael has showed a quality bat and steady defense over at second base. We are looking forward to seeing him compete for playing time this spring.
 
2014: appeared in 9 games batting .300...combined to go 2-for-4 (2 R, 2 RBI, BB) in a doubleheader vs. Yeshiva (2/23)...came in as a pinch runner vs. John Jay (3/7) and scored a run...went 1-for-2 (2 R, BB) vs. John Jay (4/23).

2013: did not play due to injury.

High School: was named to Honor Roll all 4 years of high school...played for coach Danny Gonzales at Sage Hill School...named captain of his baseball team...3-Time All-Academy League selection (2010-2012)...All-California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) nominee (2010)...named Team MVP his senior year...helped Sage Hill advance to the CIF Semifinals in 2010...played summer baseball for the Irvine Diamondbacks under coach Ron Ball...attended Headfirst Honor Roll Camps in California and New York.
 
Personal: son of Mark and Joy Yorita...has two older sisters named Allison and Andrea...planning on majoring in Quantitative Finance...picked Stevens because of the opportunity to play college baseball and receive a great business education at the same time...top MLB team and player are the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and David Eckstein...favorite book is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald...top movie is Inception...enjoys swimming, going to the beach with friends and fishing in his spare time.
