HOBOKEN, N.J. – Despite freshman guard Russ Thompson’s game-high 17 points on 6-for-9 shooting, the fourth-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology men’s basketball team dropped its Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Division Tournament quarterfinal match with visiting Baruch College, 75-64, at Canavan Arena in Hoboken, N.J. The Ducks finish the season 18-9, while the fifth-seeded Bearcats, now 21-7, move on to the tournament semifinals.

HOBOKEN, N.J. - The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s basketball team earned the fourth seed in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Metro Tournament and will host fifth-seeded Baruch College on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. in Hoboken. The Ducks come into the tournament with an overall record of 18-8, while Baruch is 20-7. Both teams lost in the finals of their respective conference tournament last week.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The St. John Fisher College men’s basketball team defeated Stevens Institute of Technology, 71-61, on Friday night at Manning and Napier Gymnasium in an Empire 8 Men’s Basketball Championship semifinal. Fisher was able to end the first half on an 8-0 run to take a 33-20 lead into the break, and Stevens could not get closer than eight points the rest of the way. With the win, No. 1 seed and host St. John Fisher advances to Empire 8 Championship game versus the winner of the other semifinal between Ithaca College and Nazareth College.

PITTSFORD, N.Y. - The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s basketball team will take on St. John Fisher College on Friday evening at 6 p.m. in an Empire 8 Men’s Basketball Championship semifinal. The fourth-seeded Ducks (18-7 overall, 10-6 Empire 8) and top seed and host Cardinals (21-4 overall, 5-1 Empire 8) split their two meetings in the regular season with the road team winning in hostile territory both times.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Empire 8 released the 2009-10 men’s basketball all-conference teams on Thursday afternoon and four Stevens Institute of Technology team members were honored. Sophomore forward Simon Smith was named second-team All-Empire 8 and guards Mike Cutri and George Greco were both honorable mention all-conference. Senior guard Corey McAdam of Nazareth College was named the Empire 8 Player of the Year.
