Charles Finishes 21st in Foil Division at NCAA Men's Fencing Finals
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior foilist Lowden Charles finished 21th out of 24 fencers who competed in the foil division at the 2008 NCAA Men’s Fencing Finals on Sunday in Columbus, Ohio. Charles posted a 7-16 record over the course of two days during the round-robin championships. As a team, the Ducks are tied with Boston College and Massachusetts Institute of Technology as the 24th best squad in the nation.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association recently announced that junior foilist Lowden Charles from the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s fencing team will compete in the 2008 Men’s Fencing Finals, which will be held on the campus of Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday and Sunday. Charles advanced to the NCAA Regional Finals were he took tenth place. With his performance he was selected as a first alternate for the NCAA Finals.
Charles Considered as First Alternate for 2008 NCAA Fencing Finals
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association recently announced its selections for the final round of the 2008 Men’s Fencing Championships and junior Lowden Charles was elected as the first alternate to participate at the event. Charles is the only Division III fencer to receive the honor as well as the first fencer in Stevens’ history to advance this far into the championships. He will be considered to participate if any athlete is unable to compete at the venue due to injury or illness.
Charles and Hochberg Compete in Finals of NCAA Regional Championships; Charles Awaits Possible At-Large Bid to NCAA Finals
MADISON, N.J. – Junior foilist Lowden Charles took tenth-place for the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s fencing team during the final round of the 2008 National Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Fencing Individual Regional Championship held on the campus of Drew University on Saturday in Madison, N.J. Charles will wait to hear from the NCAA committee to see if he has earned an at-large bid to compete the championships in two weeks.
Men's Fencing Primed for First-Round of NCAA Championships; Barth, Charles, DiPaola and Hochberg to Represent Stevens
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association has announced its field of qualifiers for the 2008 Men’s Fencing Championships as four members from Stevens Institute of Technology will head to Madison, N.J. to compete at 8 a.m. Juniors Ben Hochberg and Lowden Charles and sophomores David Barth and Steven DiPaola will represent one of only five Division III institutions that have received individual qualifiers.
