Laurita, Decker Get Weekly Accolades From Empire 8
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – For the second time in as many weeks, players from the No. 13 Stevens Institute of Technology men’s lacrosse team swept the weekly awards from the Empire 8, it was announced Monday evening. Junior attackman Chris Laurita was named the conference’s Player of the Week, while junior captain Dave Decker was named the Goalie of the Week. Stevens is now 4-0 to start the season.
Men's Lacrosse Jumps to No. 13 in Latest USILA Poll
HOBOKEN, N.J. - The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s lacrosse team jumped four spots to No. 13 in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Poll, it was announced Monday afternoon. The Ducks are off to a 4-0 start, going 2-0 last week. Stevens rolled over Eastern Connecticut State University, 17-8, and outscored Springfield College 9-3 in the second half of a 10-4 victory.
Defense Shines as No. 17 Men's Lacrosse Improves to 4-0 with Win Over Springfield
HOBOKEN, N.J. – The No. 17 Stevens Institute of Technology men’s lacrosse team defeated Springfield College, 10-4, on Sunday evening at the De Baun Athletic Complex thanks to a spirited second-half performance and superb defense. The Ducks turned a 1-1 tie at the end of the first half into a 4-1 lead in just 4:09 as they improve to 4-0 on the season. Stevens was led by junior goalkeeper Dave Decker’s 14 saves, and junior Zach McHugh’s two goals, five caused turnovers, four ground balls.
No. 17 Men's Lacrosse Rolls Over Eastern Connecticut in Home Opener
HOBOKEN, N.J. - The No. 17 Stevens Institute of Technology men’s lacrosse team outscored visiting Eastern Connecticut State University 13-1 in the first half en route to a 17-8 win on Wednesday evening at the De Baun Athletic Complex in Hoboken, N.J. Sophomore attackman Alex Hofrichter led the Ducks with four goals and junior Chris Laurita had a huge game, notching eight points on three goals and five assists. Junior Dave Decker made 12 saves in goal as the Ducks improved to 3-0 on the season.
Faubert, Decker Garner Weekly Accolades from Empire 8
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Junior midfielder Brandon Faubert and junior goalkeeper Dave Decker of the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s lacrosse team were both honored by the Empire 8 on Monday afternoon for their performances in Stevens’ two one-goal road victories to start the 2010 season. Faubert was named the Empire 8 Player of the Week, while Decker was tabbed the conference’s Goalkeeper of the Week.
