Crawford Brings in New Assistant for 2011-12 Seasons
HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology athletic department announced on September 27th, that Jessica Clausnitzer has been hired as a men’s and women’s cross country/track & field assistant coach and will join Head Coach John Crawford’s staff immediately. She will mainly coach the sprinters and jumpers at Stevens.
Track and Field Programs Rack Up Academic All-America Honors
NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced on Tuesday that the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s and women's outdoor track and field team earned a designation as a Division III All-Academic Team. Also, senior Laura Barito and sophomore Maggie Kowalska of the women’s squad earned individual All-Academic honors from the organization earlier this month as well.
Hazen Takes Sixth to Lead Track & Field at ECAC's
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Bill Hazen of the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s outdoor track and field team finished in sixth place in the decathlon at the ECAC Championships this weekend. It is an impressive accomplishment and his final score of 5,155 is the second-best total in school history.
Kowalska Wins ECAC Javelin Title on Day One
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Maggie Kowalska became the first Stevens Institute of Technology Duck to win an outdoor ECAC Event as she took home the gold medal in the javelin with her throw of 42.49 meters (139’5”) at Moravian College on Thursday. Junior Bill Hazen also had a remarkable day, turning in personal-best decathlon performances in all five of the first day's events.
Men's 4x100-meter Relay Team Qualifies for ECAC's
SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Finishing their lap in 43.58 seconds, the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s 4x100-meter relay team composed of Mohamed Abuouf, Nick Lowe, Greg McLeod and Denzel Drye qualified for next week’s ECAC Championships on Saturday at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet. It was the quartet’s best time of the season.
