Box Score vs. Skidmore - September 1, 2007

HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 1, 2007) – Sophomore forward Terrance Johnson recorded two goals Saturday afternoon at the De Baun Athletic Complex as the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s soccer team downed Skidmore College, 4-0, in Day One of the 2007 Stevens College Classic.

The Ducks (1-0) reached the scoreboard first in the opening minute of play when Johnson scored on a floater that found its way into the left corner of the net on a feed from junior midfielder Jeremy Lippel . That goal served as the lone score of the half.

In the latter stanza, Johnson tallied his second goal of the contest in the 58th-minute when he punched a two-yarder into the left corner of an open net to give Stevens a 2-0 advantage. Five minutes later, senior forward Mike Kaiser notched his first goal of the 2007 season when he one-timed a four-yard shot into the top of the net off of a pass from sophomore defenseman Chris Faustino. The Ducks put the game away for good in the 81st-minute when freshman Ian McIntyre collected his first collegiate goal when he pushed a one-timer past Skidmore (0-1) senior goaltender Jake Densen (Summit, N.J.) off of a corner-kick from junior midfielder Peter Montalvo

Stevens freshman keeper Zach Carr stopped two shots while Densen made three saves for the Thoroughbreds.

Head Coach Tim O’Donohue and the Ducks return to action tomorrow when they collide with No. 4 New York University at the De Baun Athletic Complex in a rematch of last year’s Sweet 16. Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
