Box Score vs. Elmira - September 22, 2007

ELMIRA, N.Y. (September 22, 2007) – Senior midfielder Ryan Wilkison notched the eventual game-winning goal with less than six minutes remaining on Saturday afternoon as the No. 11 Stevens Institute of Technology men’s soccer team blanked Elmira College by a final score of 1-0 in the conference opening match-up for both teams. With the victory, the Ducks improve to 6-0-2 on the season, while the Soaring Eagles drop to 1-4-1.

Wilkison one-timed a ball inside the far post of the net to provide for the only score of the afternoon. Stevens’ freshman keeper Zach Carr made one save, while Elmira junior goaltender Jon DePrimo (Elmira, N.Y.) turned aside a game-high six shots.

Head Coach Tim O’Donohue and his team return to action this Wednesday when they begin a five-game homestand against Vassar College. The opening kick-off is slated for 7 p.m. and all of the action will be carried at www.Empire8.tv.
