A dedicated educator as well as coach, Lewis served as a full-time professor of literature and creative writing a range of institutions, including the University of Virginia, Colgate, Denison, and the University of Maryland – since graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Trinity College (Conn.) and a master of fine arts from the University of Virginia.
A published author of two books of literary short stories, Lewis has given lectures and fiction readings at over 20 colleges and has visited over 20 public schools as a part of writer-in-the-schools programs.
“There was no delay in my decision to accept the position at Stevens. It is a tremendous opportunity for me to work with one of the top coaches in the game, in a region steeped in soccer tradition and success," said Lewis. "For those in the know, Stevens provides one of the best academic environments in the country. As an academic, that matters a great deal to me. As a coach, I’m honored to join one of the most successful soccer programs in any division of the NCAA. Everyone at Stevens has made me feel very welcome and I plan to do my part to contribute to this wonderful community.”
