Tasaki and Rosensteel Advance to Final Four of ITA's
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Junior classmates Chris Rosensteel and Shota Tasaki advanced to the semifinals of the USTA/ITA tournament on Sunday, defeating TCNJ 8-4 before falling to Vassar 8-1. Tasaki was also the only Duck still involved at singles, though he dropped his opening match today. The ITA’s are the final events of the fall season for the men’s team.
Tasaki Advances in Both Singles and Doubles to Lead Men's Tennis at ITA's
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y – Junior Shota Tasaki won four total matches on Friday – two apiece in singles and doubles – at the USTA/ITA Regional Championships hosted by Skidmore College. With the opening day victories, Tasaki advances to Saturday’s round of 16 at singles and also the round of 8 at doubles with partner and classmate Chris Rosensteel.
Men's Tennis Washed Out
HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology Invitational has been cancelled this weekend due to the forecast and current weather conditions. No make-up date will be played in the fall. The men’s tennis team will be back in action at the three-day ITA tournament on September 30 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Rosensteel and Tasaki Meet in Final Match at Stony Brook
STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Juniors Chris Rosensteel and Shota Tasaki battled head-to-head in the Flight A singles back draw championship of the Stony Brook Invitational this Sunday afternoon, with Rosensteel taking the match 8-4 to highlight the first action of the year for Stevens Institute of Technology men’s tennis.
Men's Tennis Set to Begin This Weekend
HOBOKEN, N.J. - The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s tennis team will begin its 2011-12 season this weekend at the Stony Brook Invitational. The Ducks will be looking for an Empire 8 three-peat this year, having won the league the past two years in a row and three times in the last four tries. The team advanced to the second round of the NCAA’s and ended last season ranked No. 12 in the Northeast.
