Six Student-Athletes Named To Empire 8 Men's Tennis All-Conference Team
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Freshman Chris Rosensteel was named the Empire 8 Rookie of the Year, while head coach Steve Gachko took home Coach of the Year honors as a record six members of the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s tennis team were selected to the league’s All-Conference teams. Three Ducks captured first-team accolades, while two student-athletes earned second-team recognition.
Men's Tennis Receives First-Round Bye; Draws MIT In NCAA Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Fresh off capturing its second Empire 8 title the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s tennis team is set to make its first NCAA Division III Tournament appearance since 2008. The Ducks, who carry a program record 18-3 overall mark into tournament play, received a first-round bye for the first time in school history. Stevens will open up NCAA play against Massachusetts Institute of Technology (14-1) on Saturday, May 15 in Middlebury, Vermont.
Men's Tennis Captures Empire 8 Title With 5-2 Win Over Ithaca
WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Junior Arik Zeevy recorded a dramatic, 4-6, 7-5, 6-0 come-from-behind, championship clinching victory in third-flight singles as the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s tennis team captured its second Empire 8 title with a 5-2 victory over Ithaca College at the Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor, N.J. The junior co-captain, who captured a No. 1 doubles victory earlier in the day, took home the tournament’s Most Valuable Player honors for his efforts. The Ducks improved to 18-3 overall on the season, while the Bombers fell to 16-3 on the year.
