Men's Tennis Falls At Vassar

POUGKEEPSIE, N.Y. (September 26, 2009) – Despite singles wins by freshmen Chris Rosensteel and Stan Yakoff and junior Jay Lee, the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s tennis team fell to Vassar College, 6-3, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The Ducks are now 0-1 on the fall season after opening up play at The College of New Jersey Invitational.

After dropping its all three of its doubles matches, Lee notched the Ducks first win of the afternoon with a 6-4, 6-3 decision over Vassar junior Joshua Jasso (Olmito, Texas) in sixth-flight singles. Yakoff would score Stevens’ second win of the afternoon, downing junior Gregory Katz (Baldwin, N.Y.) 6-3, 7-5 in fouth-flight singles before Rosensteel wrapped up play with a 1-6, 7-5, 10-7, come-from-behind victory over junior Max Willner (Bronx, N.Y.).

Stevens returns to action with a trip to the ITA Invitational in Willingboro, N.J. on October 2-4.
