Evans Named AVCA Second-Team All-American
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Sophomore outside hitter David Evans (Penfield, N.Y.) of the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s volleyball squad was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Men’s Division III All-America Second-Team on Monday, April 23. Evans led Stevens to a 28-8 overall record this season and a second-place finish in the United Volleyball Conference.
Men's Volleyball Sweeps in Season Finale
HOBOKEN, N.J. – In the regular season finale for the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s volleyball team, ranked sixth in the country, the Ducks swept in three sets Baruch College in Canavan Arena on Senior Night. Stevens finishes the season with a 28-8 overall record and drops No.13 Baruch to 23-16 on the year before the Bearcats begin NCAA Division III postseason play in Springfield, Mass. on April 27-29.
Nazareth Tops Men's Volleyball in Five Sets at UVC Final
NEW YORK, N.Y. – In the United Volleyball Conference championship match, the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s team lost to Nazareth College in five sets at New York University’s Coles Sports Center on Sunday afternoon. Stevens is now 27-8 overall and has one more match remaining on its schedule on April 18. Men's Volleyball Advances to UVC Championship to Play Nazareth
NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s volleyball team, ranked fifth nationally, topped No. 7 seed SUNY New Paltz in four sets during the quarter final match at the United Volleyball Conference Championships on April 14 at New York University. Stevens entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed and advanced to the championship match after beating Medaille College, 3-1, in the semifinal match on Saturday night.
Evans, Tyger Claim Top Player and Rookie of UVC
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The coaches of the United Volleyball Conference voted on the all-conference teams for the 2012 season and four members of the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s team landed on one of the three teams while two other were named the conference’s Player and Rookie of the Year. UVC Championship play begins this weekend at New York University, and Stevens (25-7, 9-2) will be the No. 2 seed throughout the tournament.
