Hoffman Named 2008 Senior Scholar-Athlete By Empire 8
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior Michael Hoffman from Stevens Institute of Technology was recently named the 2008 Senior Scholar-Athlete by the Empire 8 for his athletic and academic achievements over the course of his four-year career at Stevens. Hoffman has posted a 3.977 cumulative grade-point average and has produced 27 school records during his performance on the cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field teams.
Men's Cross Country Ranked Fifth Academically by USTFCCA
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recently announced its 2007 NCAA Division III Men’s All-Academic Teams, and the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s cross country team was recognized. There were 99 Division III men’s cross country teams that received the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award out of 377 institutions that sponsor the sport.
Empire 8 Announces Fall 2007 Presidents' List
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Empire 8 announced that 489 of its student-athletes were named to the Fall 2007 Presidents’ List. Over the past two semesters, more than 1,000 student-athletes have been named to the athletic conference’s list honoring academic performance. Stevens Institute of Technology produced 43 President’s List honorees in the fall of 2007.
Stevens Cross Country Members Honored by Empire 8
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Wednesday the Empire 8 announced its men’s and women’s cross country award winners as the Stevens Institute of Technology cross country team were honored in each of its sports. The recipients were voted upon by the conference coaches at the conclusion of the NCAA Division III regionals that occurred on November 10.
Men's Cross Country Finishes 20th at Division III NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships
BRONX, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s cross country team finished 20th out of 39 teams in the 8k that competed in the 2007 NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Cross Country Championships. The men improved with an average team time of 27:18 from last year’s meet when they posted a 26th-place finish out of 34 institutions.
