HOBOKEN, N.J. – Despite matching a season-high with 15 points, sophomore guard Kathleen Schuckers and the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s basketball team fell to visiting New York University, 54-51, in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Division III Women’s Basketball Championship game at Canavan Arena in Hoboken, N.J. The Ducks wrap up their 2009-10 campaign with an 18-11 overall record, while the Violets end their season on a bright note, having won three-straight to up their season mark to 16-12.
Garcia Leads Women's Basketball To ECAC Metro Semifinal Win Over Brooklyn
HOBOKEN, N.J. – Sophomore guard Dawn Garcia netted a game-high 14 points to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s basketball team past Brooklyn College in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Championship semifinal at Canavan Arena in Hoboken, N.J. Stevens, now 18-10 on the season, advances to the championship game slated for Sunday, March 7, while the Bulldogs finish the season 17-11. The Ducks will face sixth-seeded New York University, which defeated seventh-seeded Drew University, 64-54, in the day’s other semifinal matchup.

HOBOKEN, N.J. – Senior co-captain Brittany Fuller poured in a game-high 17 points, while pulling down a season-best 18 rebounds to lead the top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology women’s basketball to a 2010 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Division Tournament quarterfinal victory over eighth-seeded St. Joseph’s College (L.I.), 68-57, at Canavan Arena in Hoboken, N.J. The Ducks, will host Brooklyn College in the tournament’s semifinal round on Saturday, March 6, while the Golden Eagles wrap up the season with a 15-12 record.

CAPE COD, Mass. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s basketball team was recently named the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 2010 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Tournament. The top-seeded Ducks, who enter the tournament with a 16-10 overall mark with a 12-4 league ledger, will host eighth-seeded St. Joseph’s College (L.I.) (15-11, 12-6 Skyline) on Wednesday, March 3 at 6 p.m. at Canavan Arena in Hoboken, N.J.
Women's Basketball Falls To Utica In Empire 8 Semifinals
ITHACA, N.Y. – Four Ducks netted double-figures led by senior co-captain Sarah Gehring’s team-high 14 points, but the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s basketball team could not hang onto a nine-point second half lead, falling to Utica College, 64-59, in the Empire 8 Tournament semifinals at Ben Light Gymnasium in Ithaca, N.Y. Junior centers Victoria O’Connor and Paige Armstrong finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively, while sophomore guard Dawn Garcia rounded out the list of Ducks in double-digits with 10.
