Plotzker and Spanier Finish Third at Equestrian Zones
DOYLESTWON, Pa. – Senior Michelle Plotzker (Fairport, N.Y.) and freshman Jessica Spanier (Chester, N.J.) of Stevens Institute of Technology both took third place in their respective events at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Zone 3 Finals on Sunday. Both Duck riders were just one position away from qualifying for IHSA Nationals.
Equestrian is 2011-12 Region Three Reserve High Point College
HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology equestrian team enjoyed its finest season ever this year, tying SUNY New Paltz for Reserve High Point College honors (second place) in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association’s Zone Three, Region Three for the 2011-12 season. Stevens was awarded the trophy at last weekend’s IHSA Region finals. It is the Ducks’ highest-ever finish since the program was founded in 2003.
Equestrian Sends Three Riders to Zones
LONG VALLEY, N.J. –Senior Michelle Plotzker (Fairport, N.Y.) and freshmen Carley Mattucci (Lafayette, N.J.) and Jessica Spanier (Chester, N.J.) of the Stevens Institute of Technology equestrian team each qualified for the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Zone Three Finals as they took part in the IHSA Zone Three, Region Three Championships on Saturday. The three zone qualifiers this season match the 2004-05 team (Kerri Retting, Katie Weatherall and Katie Haskins) for the most ever in school history.
Equestrian is Fourth of 11 for Second-Straight Week
READINGTON, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology equestrian team took fourth at Saturday’s All-Region Show to close the 201-12 regular season. Freshman Jessica Spanier (Chester, N.J.) had a first-place ride at intermediate fences to lead the Ducks in their final team event this year. Overall this season, five Stevens riders have qualified for regionals.
Fourth Place Showing Starts the Spring for Equestrian
LAGRANGEVILLE, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology equestrian team began the 2012 portion of its schedule with a fourth-place finish at the Marist College Show at the Crosswinds Equestrian Center on Saturday. Freshman Jessica Spanier (Chester, N.J.) posted a pair of second-place rides at the intermediate level to lead the Ducks.
