Perkins Secures Win Over UCSD, Women's Fencing Wraps Up 6-5 Roadtrip
CHICAGO, Ill. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s fencing team wrapped up its successful trip to Chicago with three wins in the second half of the Northwestern University Invitational on Sunday. In the most exciting moment of the day, junior Krystal Perkins (Palmdale, Calif.) won the final bout of the Ducks’ 14-13 win over the University of California, San Diego. Stevens also defeated Cleveland State University and Lawrence University.
Women's Fencing Tops National Power UNC, Epee Upends Defending National Champs from Notre Dame
CHICAGO, Ill. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s fencing team had a good showing on Saturday afternoon against some of the top fencing programs in the country at the Northwestern University Invitational, defeating the University of North Carolina 14-13 and scoring an impressive 7-2 epee victory over the University of Notre Dame, the defending National Champions. With the match tied at 13-all, senior foilist Alexis Clyburn (Hillside, N.J.) won the deciding bout against the Tar Heels to give the Ducks the victory.
Women's Fencing Sets New Consecutive-Victory Mark; Three Wins Sunday Make 15 Straight
DURHAM, N.H. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s fencing team went undefeated for the second-straight week, sweeping the University of Vermont, Mt. Holyoke College and host University of New Hampshire on Sunday in a trio of lopsided contests. The Ducks’ closest match was a 21-6 drubbing of the Catamounts. Senior Krista Sticco (Leonia, N.J.) and junior Juliet Turalski (Maplewood, N.J.) led the team with 9-0 sabre records.
Women's Fencing Goes Undefeated; Turalski 14-0
WEST POINT, N.Y. – In their first action of the new year, the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s fencing team (13-1) went 6-0 at the United States Military Academy Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Ducks took down the University of Detroit, Lafayette College, City College of New York, Cleveland State University, Hunter College and host Army, all by at least an 18-9 final. Junior sabreist Juliet Turalski (Maplewood, N.J.) was undefeated (14-0) on the day.
Sienna Batzli Wins Epee at NIWFA Christmas Invitational
JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Sophomore Sienna Batzli (Maplewood, N.J.) won the epee competition as the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s fencing team took part in the annual National Intercollegiate Women’s Fencing Association’s Christmas Invitational on Sunday. The Ducks sent four other fencers to the finals as they wrapped up their fall semester in style in Jersey City.
