Women's Lacrosse Announces 2012 Captains, Hosts Successful Alumnae Game
HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s lacrosse program was busy last weekend. The Ducks hosted their annual alumnae game, announced their 2012 captains – seniors Michelle Buonacuore, Ashley Carey, Lindsay Daly, and Jenna Scheibling – and also had two graduates inducted into the Stevens Athletics Hall of Fame.
Stevens Student-Athletes Participate in Tunnel to Towers
HOBOKEN, N.J. - Members of three Stevens Institute of Technology athletic programs - women's basketball, women's lacrosse, and women's soccer - participated in the 10th anniversary Tunnel to Towers Run inside the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel this past weekend. The teams joined 30,000 other runners to pay tribute to firefighter Stephen Siller, who lost his life on September 11, 2001.
IWLCA Honors Women's Lacrosse with Academic Honors
HOBOKEN, N.J. – The two-time defending Empire 8 Champion Stevens Institute of Technology women’s lacrosse team was honored by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) this week, taking home Academic Honor Squad honors. The team also had two student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll in senior midfielder Christine Smith and senior attack Claire Eudy.
Smith, Cox Earn Second-Team All-America Honors from IWLCA
HOBOKEN, N.J. – Senior defender Kate Cox and senior midfielder Christine Smith were named second-team Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Americans. Smith and Cox each earned second-team All-America honors in 2010 with Cox being named to the third-team in 2009. The duo marks the eighth and ninth time in program history a Stevens Institute of Technology women’s lacrosse student-athlete has earned the prestigious honor.
Five From Women's Lacrosse Earn All-Region Honors from IWLCA
HOBOKEN, N.J. – Stevens Institute of Technology placed five players on the first- and second-team All-Boardwalk Region team, the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced recently. Senior defender Kate Cox, senior midfielder Christine Smith, junior defender Ashley Carey and sophomore midfielder Spencer Waybright all were named first team, while junior attack Michelle Buonacuore was named second-team All-Boardwalk.
