Laura Barito Named NCAA Woman of the Year
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Stevens Institute of Technology graduate Laura Barito was named the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Woman of the Year on Sunday night. A two-time NCAA national champ, Barito is the second NCAA Division III student-athlete to win the award.
Laura Barito Wins CAANJ Female Student-Athlete of the Year
SOMERSET, N.J. – Two-sport national champion Laura Barito of Stevens Institute of Technology was named the 2011 Collegiate Athletic Administrators of New Jersey’s Female Student-Athlete of the Year, the organization announced at its annual awards luncheon on Thursday morning. Barito graduated from Stevens in 2011 with a 3.85 grade point average in mechanical engineering and was a national champion in both the NCAA swimming 50-yard freestyle and the NCAA track 400-meter hurdles in her senior season.
Crawford Brings in New Assistant for 2011-12 Seasons
HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology athletic department announced on September 27th, that Jessica Clausnitzer has been hired as a men’s and women’s cross country/track & field assistant coach and will join Head Coach John Crawford’s staff immediately. She will mainly coach the sprinters and jumpers at Stevens.
Barito One of Nine Finalists for NCAA Woman of the Year Award
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Laura Barito ’11 was announced as one of nine finalists for the NCAA Woman of the Year award, the NCAA announced on Wednesday. The nine finalists, along with the other honorees who made the Top 30, will be invited to Indianapolis for the Woman of the Year festivities October 16. The award weekend will include a community service project that gives honorees the opportunity to interact with young girls in the city of Indianapolis and serve as role models for them. The NCAA will also host a reception in their honor. Barito was a two-sport star at Stevens winning NCAA National Championships in swimming and outdoor track and field this past year.

Thirty women, 10 from each NCAA membership division, have been selected as the top 30 honorees for the award.
