Six From Women's Swimming Going to NCAAs
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s swimming team has six swimmers going to the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships March 17-20 in Minneapolis Minn., it was announced Thursday evening when the official NCAA Psyche Sheets were released. Junior Laura Barito, senior Gabrielle Czernik, freshman Marissa Douglas, sophomore Hayley Hatfield, senior Stephanie Miller, and sophomore Sian Pearson will be making the trip as the Ducks will look to improve up their 11th-place finish at the NCAA’s in 2009.
Women's Swimming Takes Second at UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Championships; Ducks Record NCAA Cuts in 18-of-18 Events
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s swimming team placed second of 17 schools at the 2010 UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Championships on Saturday in Syracuse, N.Y. The Ducks finished the three-day event with a team total of 1,306. Ithaca College placed first with 1,403 points and Nazareth College was third with 909. Stevens recorded an NCAA A- or B-cut in all 18 events it competed in over the course of the weekend.
Women's Swimming Still in Second After Two Days at UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Championships
HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s swimming team is in second place after two days of competition at the 2010 UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Championships in Syracuse, N.Y. The Ducks, who have a team total of 861, trail conference foe Ithaca College (906 points) by 45 points. Nazareth College is in third as the top three did not change from Day 1 of the three-day event. Stevens recorded NCAA cuts in each event it competed in.
Women's Swimming Successful on First Day of UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Championships; Ducks in Second Going into Day 2
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s swimming team is in second place after one day of competition at the 2010 UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Championships. The Ducks and their 411 points trail only conference rival Ithaca College and its 448 points. Nazareth College is in third with a team total of 299. Stevens competed in 5-of-6 events on the day and hit NCAA cuts in all five, with junior Laura Barito and sophomore Sian Pearson recording NCAA A-cuts.
Women's Swimming Ends Dual-Meet Season with win Over SUNY New Paltz
NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team improved to 5-2 on the season with a 116-89 win at SUNY New Paltz on Saturday afternoon in New Paltz, N.Y. The Ducks won six events on the afternoon as freshman Marissa Douglas and junior Laura Barito each took the top spot in two events for Stevens.
