Women's Tennis Sweeps Ramapo to Open Season
HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s tennis team dominated Ramapo College in its first action of the 2010 season, defeating the Roadrunners 9-0 at the Stevens Tennis Courts in Hoboken. Stevens dropped only one set the entire afternoon en route to the win. The Ducks move to 1-0, while Ramapo’s record falls to 0-1.
Women's Tennis Picked To Finish Second In Empire 8
HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s tennis team was recently picked to finish second in the Empire 8 according to a poll of the league’s nine head coaches. Five-time defending champion Ithaca College was named the conference’s preseason favorite with 64 total points, while the Ducks placed second with 55 points. Rochester Institute of Technology rounded out the top three with 51 points.
Women's Tennis Ready For 2010 Season
HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s tennis team enters the 2010 season with hopes of capturing its first-ever Empire 8 title under sixth-year head coach Steve Gachko. The Ducks finished last season with a 13-6 overall record and a 7-1 conference mark, falling to five-time league champion Ithaca College in the Empire 8 Championship match.
Women's Tennis Drops Season Finale To SUNY New Paltz
NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – Despite sophomore Nicole Portner’s win in second-flight singles, the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s tennis team wrapped up its 2009-10 season with a 7-2 loss to SUNY New Paltz in New Paltz, N.Y. The Ducks finished the season with a 13-6 overall mark, while the Hawks moved to 12-2 on the year with the win.
Appleheimer, Scalzi Score Wins But Women's Tennis Fell To Hamilton
ORLANDO, Fla. – Junior Kendra Appleheimer went 2-0 on the day, scoring a win in No. 2 doubles and No. 4 singles, but the Stevens Institute of Technology wrapped up its spring trip to Orlando, Fla. with a 6-3 loss to Hamilton College. The Ducks wrap up their season with a showdown against SUNY New Paltz on Wednesday, April 7.
