O'Connell Departs Stevens for SUNY Oswego
HOBOKEN, N.J. – Earlier this week, former Stevens Institute of Technology women’s volleyball head coach J.J. O’Connell announced that he will be leaving Castle Point after accepting a new head coaching position at SUNY Oswego. O’Connell departs Stevens after a 15-23 campaign in 2011 and a school-record 272 victories in 10 seasons at the helm of the program.
New Ducks Set to Join Flock in 2012 for Women's Volleyball
HOBOKEN, N.J. – Stevens Institute of Technology women’s volleyball Head Coach J.J. O’Connell has announced that two of his sought-after recruits will be attending Castle Point as freshmen in the 2012-13 academic school year. The Ducks only lost one player to graduation this season but will need to fill some voids after the departure of the 2013 class.
Kowalska Becomes Second Three-Time All-American in School History
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its annual All-America teams earlier this week and Stevens Institute of Technology women’s volleyball junior Maggie Kowalska (Edison, N.J.) was named to the honorable mention team for the third straight season. With the honor, Kowalska becomes the second Duck to ever accomplish this recognition in the program’s 25-year history.
Kowalska Earns AVCA All-Region Honors for Third Time
LEXINGTON, Ky. – On Thursday, November 10, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released its all-region teams and Stevens Institute of Technology’s junior women’s volleyball student-athlete, Maggie Kowalska (Edison, N.J.) was named to the New York Region. Kowalska has earned this accolade all three seasons she has played for Stevens.
Women's Volleyball Ends Season at Elmira
ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s volleyball team ended their season in the semifinals of the Empire 8 Championship at Elmira College on Saturday, November 5. Stevens lost in three sets to Nazareth College, 25-14, 25-20, 25-21. The Ducks finished the season 15-23.
