MacWhinnie and Dudek Named Athletes of the Year at Annual Awards Banquet
HOBOKEN, N.J. – On Sunday, May 4, the Stevens Institute of Technology Department of Athletics hosted its 51st Annual Athletics Banquet. Over 400 student-athletes, administrators, faculty members, coaches, and staff attended the event inside the Canavan Arena. A total of 55 seniors were recognized during the ceremony. In addition, senior wrestler Brandon MacWhinnie and junior guard Dani Dudek of women’s basketball walked away with the top awards of the evening.
Women's Volleyball Has Strong Showing at Spring Invitational
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – On Saturday, the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s volleyball team competed in the Temple University Cherry and White Spring Invitational in Philadelphia, Pa. The Ducks faced off against five other squads, which consisted of two club teams, Division II Dowling College, Division I Temple and from the Ivy League, the University of Pennsylvania.
Men's and Women's Volleyball Conduct Sportsmanship Session as Part of Stevens Duckling Program
HOBOKEN, N.J. – On Wednesday, April 2, over 30 men’s and women’s volleyball student-athletes from Stevens Institute of Technology conducted a one-hour session on sportsmanship with fourth- and fifth-graders at Calabro Primary School in Hoboken. The programming was held in conjunction with the teams’ final visit with the children – culminating a two-month long relationship that started when the Stevens students made the trip to 6th Street and Park Avenue on February 6. The day’s focus on sportsmanship was held in celebration of National Sportsmanship Day, which took place on March 4.
Empire 8 Announces Fall 2007 Presidents' List
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Empire 8 announced that 489 of its student-athletes were named to the Fall 2007 Presidents’ List. Over the past two semesters, more than 1,000 student-athletes have been named to the athletic conference’s list honoring academic performance. Stevens Institute of Technology produced 43 President’s List honorees in the fall of 2007.
Tennis, Volleyball and Wrestling Teams Host Stevens Duckling Program Kickoffs at Calabro and Connors
HOBOKEN, N.J. – On Wednesday afternoon, a total of 65 student-athletes and coaches from Stevens Institute of Technology went out into the local community to host four separate kickoffs at two primary schools – Calabro and Connors – in Hoboken as part of the Stevens Duckling Program. During the day, the men’s and women’s tennis teams joined the wrestling team at Connors. Meanwhile, the men’s and women’s volleyball team hosted a kickoff at Calabro.
