Women's Volleyball Takes Two In Season-Opening Tri-Match
HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s volleyball team began its 2010 season with a pair of wins over Fairleigh Dickinson University – Florham and Hunter College in Madison, N.J. The Ducks rallied to take their season opener with the host Knights, 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-9) before sweeping the Hawks, 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-21).

HOBOKEN, N.J. – Fresh off a 2009 season in which it posted a 26-10 overall record en route to a sixth-consecutive conference title and NCAA Tournament appearance, the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s volleyball team enters the 2010 campaign with its sights set on an all too familiar goal: an Empire 8 title and NCAA Tournament berth.
Women's Volleyball Tabbed As Empire 8 Preseason Favorite
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s volleyball team, fresh off its sixth-straight conference title and NCAA Tournament appearance, was recently picked to finish first in the Empire 8, according to a poll of the league’s nine head coaches. The Ducks took home the top spot with 64 points, followed by four-time conference champion Nazareth College (56) and two-time Empire 8 champion Ithaca College (49).
Women's Volleyball Announces 2010 Recruiting Class
HOBOKEN, N.J. – Hoping to build upon another successful season on the Hudson, Stevens Institute of Technology head women’s volleyball coach J.J. O’Connell recently announced the addition of six incoming freshmen to a Ducks’ squad that posted a 26-10 overall mark in 2009-10, capturing their sixth consecutive conference championship en route to their sixth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
Helak Named Head Coach At Franklin College
FRANKLIN, Ind. – Stevens Institute of Technology women’s volleyball assistant coach Mary Helak has been named the head women’s volleyball coach and assistant athletic director of Franklin College, announced Stevens head coach J.J. O’Connell. Helak recently completed a two-year stint as the Ducks’ assistant women’s volleyball coach and athletics administration assistant as part of the NCAA Division III Women and Ethnic Minority Grant Program.
