Amitrani Earns USTFCCCA Individual Academic Honors as Women's Cross Country Garners Team Accolades
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recently announced the 2007 NCAA Division III Women’s All-Academic Team as junior Sara Amitrani was recognized for her individual accomplishments on and off the course. The women’s cross country team also was awarded USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.
Empire 8 Announces Fall 2007 Presidents' List
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Empire 8 announced that 489 of its student-athletes were named to the Fall 2007 Presidents’ List. Over the past two semesters, more than 1,000 student-athletes have been named to the athletic conference’s list honoring academic performance. Stevens Institute of Technology produced 43 President’s List honorees in the fall of 2007.
Stevens Cross Country Members Honored by Empire 8
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Wednesday the Empire 8 announced its men’s and women’s cross country award winners as the Stevens Institute of Technology cross country team were honored in each of its sports. The recipients were voted upon by the conference coaches at the conclusion of the NCAA Division III regionals that occurred on November 10.
Women's Cross Country Finishes 16th at Division III NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships
BRONX, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s cross country team finished 16th out of 37 teams that competed in the 2007 NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Cross Country Championships. The women improved from last season’s 29th-place showing having clocked an average team time of 24:25 in this year’s 6k run.
Franzese Named Empire 8 Co-Runner of the Week
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Empire 8 released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon and Stevens Institute of Technology sophomore cross country runner Melissa Franzese was named the Empire 8 Co-Runner of the Week. Franzese placed first at the Nick Russo Halloween Classic at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. She finished the 3k race in 11:08.72 to best the 39-runner field.
