Women's Cross Country Finishes 20th out of 42 at NCAA's
GENESEO, N.Y. – Freshman Ashley Princiotta matched her classmate from the men’s team Davis DeWan exactly and finished 74th out of 239 runners at Saturday’s NCAA Regional Meet hosted by the State University of New York at Geneseo with a time of 24:05 in the 6k race. Junior Shanna Bearisto also broke the 25-minute barrier for the Ducks, finishing 18 seconds ahead of that pace.
Women's Cross Country Finishes Fifth at Empire 8's
SARATOGA, N.Y.– Freshman Ashley Princiotta and junior Shanna Bearisto of the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s cross country team finished within 14 seconds of each other to finish in 13th and 16th place, respectively, at the Empire 8 Championships Saturday in Saratoga, N.Y. The Ducks finished the event in fifth place overall in the 5k race. Ithaca College won the Empire 8 championship for the seventh time in eight years with an average time of 18:39, and Jenn Randall of the Bombers won the individual title by a remarkable 31 seconds, finishing the race in 17:52.
Bearisto Tabbed as Empire 8 Runner of the Week
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Junior Shanna Bearisto was named the Empire 8 Runner of the Week for her performance at the 2009 Collegiate Track Conference Championships. Bearisto finished the 6k event in 24:36, good enough for 10th place in an extremely deep field. Bearisto helped lead the ducks to a sixth place team finish at the meet.
Women's Cross Country Takes Sixth at CTC's
POMONA, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s cross country team finished sixth at the Collegiate Track Conference cross country championships Saturday. The Ducks were led by junior Shanna Bearisto and freshman Ashley Princiotta, who finished the 6k race in 10th and 14th place, respectively. Rowan University took home the team title, and Jen Rawls of the Profs won the individual championship with a remarkable time of 21:53.
Women's Cross Country Dominates Highlander Invitational
NEWARK, N.J. - The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s cross country team finished the Highlander Invitational with a remarkable team score of only 39 points. The next closest rival to the Ducks was Hunter College, and the Hawks finished the meet with 99 points. Ashley Princiotta came in second place at the meet, with her time of 19:12 and Shanna Bearisto took 4th with a personal best time of 19:59.
