Meredith (Spencer-Blaetz) York was named the head field hockey coach at Stevens in April of 2016 and is entering her ninth season as head coach of the Ducks.

In the season-opener in 2024, York recorded her 83rd career victory, surpassing Jessica Reed's previous-best of 82. Through her first eight seasons at the helm, York is 97-58, winning 10 or more games in each of the last six campaigns (excluding 2020 where no games were played during the COVID-19 Pandemic).

Under her tutelage and guidance, Stevens has made seven postseason appearances, two in the Empire 8 Conference and five in the MAC Freedom, winning consecutive MAC Freedom Championships in 2023 and 2024. York has led the Ducks to six straight winning seasons and the team reeled off a program record 14-game winning streak in 2023.

Dale Stevens HC

  • Program leader with 97 career victories
  • Has posted an overall record of 97-58 after the 2023 season
  • Stevens is 54-20 at the DeBaun Athletic Complex since taking over the program
  • Led the Ducks to the Empire 8 Tournament in 2016, 2018 and the MAC Freedom Tournament in 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2024
  • Helped Stevens win its third MAC Freedom title in 2024 
  • Notched a victory over Rowan on September 11, 2024, their first win over the Profs since 2009
  • Stevens reeled off a program record 14 straight victories in 2023
  • Led Stevens to seven consecutive wins in 2019, the longest win streak since 2009
  • Shutout 11 opponents in 2023, tied for the most in program history 
  • Doubled the team’s win total from the 2017 to 2018 season 
  • Helped Stevens go 7-1 at DeBaun Athletic Complex in 2024  
  • Has a Level II Coaching Certification from USA Field Hockey 
  • Coaches the Futures Development Program through USA Field Hockey 
  • A member of the WeCOACH NCAA Women Coaches Academy in December of 2018
  • Also achieved her Master's Degree in Exercise and Sport Studies from Smith College in 2016
