EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (December 6, 2014) – After three sessions at the 2014 ECAC Championships in East Meadow, N.Y., the Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team is in third place.

The Ducks have a team total of 947.50 points. Siena College - an NCAA DI school - is in second, along with fourth place St. Francis College. New York University is in first place after a pair of days (1,377.50).
 
Day 1 Recap
 
Session four and five are both Sunday. New York University is currently leading with 628.50 points. DI Siena College is in second (505.50) and the Ducks have 470.50. DI Saint Francis College and DI Manhattan College are currently in fourth and fifth place.

Session Two
Freshman Sarah Hoogenboom was Stevens' top finisher in the 200-yard backstroke, clocking a 2:09.91 and placing fourth (26 points). Sophomore Claire Hendershot took 12th in the event thanks to a 2:13.37.
 
Senior April Lawson and sophomore Danielle Caruso placed second and third in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking times of 52.91 and 53.14 and bring in 60 points. Senior Nicole Miller was ninth with a 54.22.
 
Senior Brittany Geyer recorded the team's first win of the afternoon, touching first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a 2:20.03. Her finish was good for an NCAA B-cut and 32 team points. Freshman Kaitlyn Prescott placed ninth.
 
Senior Maria McClure and junior Elizabeth Heinbach went one-two in the 200-yard butterfly. McClure clocked a 2:07.83 and Heinbach followed with a 2:08.90 as freshman Sarah Jurczyk placed fourth (2:10.35). The group brought in 86 team points and McClure pocketed a B-cut.
 
Closing the second session was the 800-yard freestyle relay team of Heinbach, Geyer, Miller and Caruso. That squad placed second (56 points) with a 7:49.36.

Session Three
The 200-yard freestyle team clocked a 1:38.38 in picking up 56 team points and earning a second-place finish to open the third session Saturday evening. Hoogenboom was fourth in the 100-yard backstroke (26 points), touching the wall at 59.51, and senior Sharon Rooker was fifth with a 59.69. Caruso picked up a win in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a 1:54.39 and pocketing 32 points. Miller earned her second ninth of the day in the same event.

Geyer's second win of the day came in the 100-yard breaststroke. Geyer finished with a B-cut time of 1:04.16, setting a new ECAC meet record and earning 32 team markers.

McClure was second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.04 which was good for a NCAA B-cut. Jurczyk was fourth and Rooker was 11th for the Ducks.

Heinbach picked up a win in the 400-yard IM, turning in a 4:32.76 which was good for a B-cut. Geyer finished second - also belting a B-cut.

Stevens will close action at the 2014 ECAC Chamoionships Sunday.
